Well I wasn t expecting to see this on the cover of The Saturday Times at the weekend. Here’s the original print which I ve always loved. Maggie’s asked if she could use the portrait to make into a postcard for people when they asked for autographs. She used it for years afterwards. It’s always very satisfying to make a portrait when the subject feels you got them so this was pretty special when Maggie asked as she had been photographed a few times. She was hilarious on the shoot irreverently wafting away the make up artist “ come on dear what difference do you think you can possibly make to with this “ pointing at her face” I’m going to give you five minutes then we are getting on with this portraits” ha ha no one argued. We chatted about my baby, her son, the industry taking some pictures in the hotel and then wandering down the road for some out door shots. No publicisit , no fuss just a brilliant, if brief connection.
