At the end of a yearlong critical theory course centred on my series UnBecoming; this is my final presentation for the group show Incounters.  The specifics of personal unravelling, confrontation, and re-evaluation, combined with rigorous research, allowed the project to dissolve further and take a new direction. Letting go of the portraits and specifics, I became more concerned with reflections on the temporality of life—our constant need to adjust, to flex and expand rather than stagnant. There is space and simplicity to the work with room to breathe.  By walking away from photography throughout the year, working with sculpture and objects, I found my way back a fresh approach with the lens, capturing the shadows of the work.  The archive of the project rather than being presented, has left its imprint, sunburnt into paper, and it’s these voids that I decided to present. The project is alive, still moving, shifting how it demands to be displayed.
