I am delighted that Herb and Mouse have been selected for the final print round of the Taylor Wessing—a moment I witnessed in between the staged portraits we annually capture. I am a hoarder of these fragments, captured mainly by my eyes rather than the lens, building the interwoven spiderwebs of family memories. His guard drops, and he is immediately comfortable, no longer performing for the camera. A tender moment as my child’s shape shifts before my eyes, embodying every version of themselves with ripples of what is to come.

I really hope to see this one on the National Portrait Gallery walls later in the year, but either way it will be a fantastic memory to be framed and enjoyed on the walls at home. Good luck to everyone through to this final stage.
