Im thrilled that this dream has come true. For years i ve been wanting to deliver portraits to the public without the need to buy a book or go to an exhibition…to simply absorb things by walking past … if the pictures can also have a reflection and the soundtrack of birdsong then my work is done.

I moved into a studio a few months back and have had my eye on this wall ever since… So here they are 7 pillars of humanity to watch over you as the world comes out of isolation. Its been really interesting how the meaning of the portraits changes when seen at this scale and in this location, no longer intimate portraits of individuals to be absorbed one at a time  in a book with their words adding another personal layer ,now they stand silent as a group…the guardians of our community.

I couldn’t be happier with this installation, its given me great joy to make, stretching what i thought i could do , i hope you enjoy visiting them. they will be sitting on Regents Canal for a year near the entrance to Victoria Park, theres a map on the installations page  but they are pretty imposing you won’t have to look too hard to find them.
